The Hotel Fratazza dates back to the year 1000 when the monastery of Saints Martin and Julian was built, which offered hospitality to travelers on their way to Rome and the Holy Land. In the second half of the 19th century, thanks to the arrival of the English and Germans, the first pioneers of mountaineering, the first alpine hotel in the whole of Trentino was born in San Martino.
